It was estimated that an audience of 73 million were watching, the largest TV audience up to that date. I was in that audience. I thought that was about the coolest thing I had ever seen. By June of 1964 I was taking guitar lessons (thanks mom and dad). On my birthday in October 1964 they bought me my first electric guitar. My cousin was taking drum lessons. And with a couple more kids in the neighborhood we formed a band. From that date until now, I have almost always been in a band. It has been quite a journey.
